Hope's Door - Embracing life free from domestic abuse

Dear Mr. Rossi, PE:

What a great job! Words cannot express how grateful we are for the wonderful repainting of our emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence earlier this month. This was not a simple task, and one that we had only dreamed of.

That is, until we received word that our organization, Hope’s Door, still known as The Northern Westchester Shelter at that time, was to be the recipient of many good things generated by Benjamin Moore Paints and O, The Oprah Magazine. What a wonderful experience it has been for us. In addition to a clean, welcoming and stylish respite for victims of domestic violence, our staff and board of directors have been fueled with the hope and inspiration of so many friends and supporters who lent their time, energy and enthusiasm to the project.

This has certainly been a Pay-It-Forward type of community event in a way that would make Ms. Winfrey proud! In the days before the event, teams of financial professionals from BNY Mellon Wealth Management spent two days doing lawn work; Maid Brigade sent over a team the following Monday to do a thorough post-painting cleanup; Pottery Barn donated bedding and accessories; and Unilever bathroom essentials make the house a home.

Thank you so much for everything you’ve done to inspire others and to send a message to those wounded by domestic violence-that there are people who care and who are willing to help.

With much appreciation,
Andrea Naso Nord,
Director of Development and Community Relations
